This meat loaf is adapted from my mother-in-law’s recipe, and I really like it since it has no ketchup. I think the flavor resembles breakfast sausage a little.
Preheat the oven to 350. Or, you can use the air fryer (no preheat needed).
Mix everything together and shape into a loaf on a cookie sheet with a rack on it. The loaf should hold together well without spreading out. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. I usually do the full hour. To bake in the air fryer, shape the loaf in the tray and cook at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
1 lb. ground beef (I usually use 85/15).
1/2 t. salt
1 t. sage
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 T. dried, minced onion
We usually serve baked potatoes with the meat loaf. For small (5-6 oz.) potatoes, I put 1 c. of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot and the potatoes on the trivet. I cook them at high pressure for 12 minutes and natural release for 10.
Don’t forget your favorite sauce! I like barbeque sauce on my slice of meatloaf.
