Vegan mac and “cheese” doesn’t taste exactly like cheese. If you don’t like nutritional yeast, then this recipe is not for you. Don’t expect cheese, but DO expect creamy, salty, and satisfying. Using the cheese sauce mix makes it almost as quick as boxed mac and cheese and definitely faster than grating real cheese.
To make the mac and “cheese”, cook 2 oz. of macaroni per serving for lots of sauce and 3 oz. for a lighter amount of sauce. For each two servings, use 1 recipe of “cheese” sauce. When the macaroni is cooked, mix it together with the sauce and serve.
